Best way to frag GSP?

When i upgrdaded to my 90g i had a big rock with tons of neon GSP on it. I knew they would grow fast, soo i put the rock in my 90g 8 months ago upside. I wanted the rock but not all that GSP.

Anyways it has grown crazily and needs to be trimmed back major!! whats the best way to get rid of it. I dont see how you could frag it with out takin a chunk of the rock with it.

place rubble or other rock you'll remove later in the path of growth - probably toward the light. Once the gsp has made the jump to the new rock, and it's spread as much as you want it to, just cut the new rock away by slicing through the purple mantle with an exacto knife. Instant frag

That works great for creating future frags and should be done for easier removal of unwanted growth. Try lifting an edge and see if you can't pull the mat off the rock. If that doesn' work you'll have to chip a thin layer of rock off with the mat. Any remaining mat material can be kalk pasted over or super glued or hit with a blow torch to kill completely.

You may be able to take the rock out and trade it at the LFS for the same size rock with no coral on it.
