Check my fish list please

I am setting up a 125 gallon reef and want to get some opinions on whether I should cut back, keep the list, or add a few fish.

1 Percula
1 Engineer Goby
1 6 line wrasse
1 Sunburst Anthias
1 Royal Gramma
3 Green Chromis
1 Firefish
1 Mandarin
1 Goby/shrimp pair (not sure which yet)

Sounds good but I would get a pair of clowns of not just one and also, I would get a group of anthias and not just one.

I wouldn't add a mandarin until the tank is established and has plenty of pods. I also wouldn't have a 6 line (or any other pod eating fish) in the same tank as a mandarin. They will compete for the pods and most likely the mandarin will come out the loser.

I would go with a pair of clowns. If you are wanting a "group" of fish I would consider the anthias before the chromis. Just my opinion.

everything looks good, you will want to wait atleast 6 months before the mandarin though and the zixline will probably eat all the mandarins food, so you might want to figure out which fish you want more.

I already have the clown in a 55 reef that will be transferred into the 125. Would it be possible to add another percula and have them pair up, or would they just fight instead?

Ditto on the clown pair. Not sure if you can school Sunburst or not (but I don't think so). But a school of anthias is cool (bartlett's or squampinnis would be cool). A harem of flasher wrasses would be really cool. Several different fairy wrasses would be good as well. You still don't have much of a fish load for a 125 so keep up the research.

You can add another clown just make sure it's a lot smaller than the one you already have. I've done this a few different times with no problems at all.

I was thinking more of the Lyretail Anthias as schooling fish. I didn't think about the one he mentioned. My bad.

You could add another perc as long as it was significantly bigger or smaller. The smaller of the two will become the male.
I've done it and have been lucky on all accounts, they paired up each time.

I agree with lpsluver's comment on sunburst anthias not really schooling. Everytime I have seen them in tanks they have been alone. I also read that they are best kept alone unless you are keeping them in a large tank, so they dont sound like they would get along too well.

How do you think the sunburst would get along with a school of lyretail anthias? Would there be fighting just because they are both anthias?

"Generally speaking" anthias get along just fine with other anthias. The sunburst and pretty much the rest of the anthias would occupy different areas in the tank. The sunburst don't really like bright light, so they hang out under over-hangs. The rest pretty much swim around. The sunburst is, I believe, in its' own genus (Serranocirrhitus) unlike the most of the rest of the anthias.
