hydor koralia

what do you guys think of this pump? I bought the HK2 and it doesnt seem to do much. The pump is rated for 600 GPH and I like the magnet mount....very nice. I dont know if I should have got the HK3 instead. It replaced one of my MJ 1200 powerhead.

There are dozens (and dozens) of Koralia threads in the Equipment forum - I'd try SEARCHING there first, then posting if your question is not answered by the 100's of posts already done.

That said, I very much like my Koralia's. I think a K2 is a bit underpowered for a 90 gal (if that's what your tank size is), however. Mine are dead silent unless I shut everything down (lights, fans, sump return), and put out tons of flow. You cannot find more off-the-shelf flow for the low price and low power (less heat) than the Koralia's, or at least that I have seen.

I have the HK3 on my 120 FOWLR along with some MJmods(600). I also have a couple tunze nano streams on my 29 gallon sps tank. I like the tunze the best because of the look/size but a little underpowered. The HK's are my second choice. Nice magnet and good power. MJ's are good only if you have some unused powerheads around and do lots of DIY IMO. Otherwise the HK's are a better value. I paid $35 for the HK3 through a group buy.

The flow is more disbursed where as the flow from th MJ is so direct. The flow is there... it's just difficult to guage it.
