Overflow plumbing input needed

I have a 60g hex that has a tempered bottom. Can anyone tell me where I can drill the tank other than the bottom to incorporate an overflow and return? Thanks!

You can do your holes at the top or middle section of the tank.

Any failure and water will drain to the lowest point in the aquarium.

Would you just put an intake strainer over the inlet or is there a better way?
