Flow for 40 gallon

Right now I have a maxi 900 and rio rated at 300 0r 400 gph along with a 1000 gph return(more like 400 actual after head height and scwd) i want more flow but am worried about my shrooms and other corals that don't like high flow. Anyone have a similar tank and ideas on powerheads. I was thinking about getting a couple koralias?

I would get rid of the maxi-jet and rio and get a pair of Tunze nano streams or the Koralia streams. I run two 6045 nano streams in my 37 gallon tank with a 400gph return and it's a good amount. You can always move the softies/shrooms to a differen't spot in the tank where there's less flow.

As long as your pushing 800-1600 gph you will be fine--your corals that you have are not too demanding

Exactly what michaeltwana said. The flow needs to match the corals. For the soft corals you're keeping, why do you want to increase the flow?

With the PC lights in your signature, it's safe to assume you're not trying to move into sps corals.

I would go with either 1 or 2 tunze 6025 streams for what you have.

I would like to have more flow in the lower section of the tank as well as behing/through the LR. I mainly want to try and rid excess deitritus from settling.
