hang-on refugium

thinking of buying a fuge for my 30gal reef and trying to keep it as cheap as possible, has anybody had any experience with a product like this? only around $70 it has a small protien skimmer and comes with a free 250gph pump, also you can add the 14" h/o light for only another $20. seems too good to be true... feedback much appreciated

I've used the one without the protein skimmer. Loved it so much I upgraded to a 20g refugium under my tank. Becareful, once you enjoy the fruits of the refugium, you never go back.

I am using the model without the protein skimmer on my 24g Nano and have seen marked improvements...........

I whole-heartedly agree with pledosophy; I can't imagine a reef tank without a refugium.

for a 30 gallon tank, I would just buy a used/new hang on powerfilter and turn that into a Fuge. Works great with a simple little light above it and will cost you a lot less. The skimmers on those comobs pretty much a

HOT fuge is fine. I'd avoid the skimmer, too, as stated above. Cheap skimmers can be a real bummer.
