DSB in fuge??????
I understand that deep sand beds are a very controversial subject. I decided not to go with a DSB in my display tank and instead decided to go with about 3/4 of an inch. I have an in-sump fuge and am debating wether to include a dsb, shallow sand bed, or any sand at all. My fuge will also contain chaeto and live rock rubble. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |

i don't recomend a dsb in your display i have one and im not really happy with it but in my fuge i have a 5 inch dsb and it works great i think the only problem is if you have chaeto you need a stronger current in your fuge and you may start a sand storm good luck

Why is it better for a DSB to go into a fuge rather than a display tank. I will have less than 300 gph going through my sump/fuge. By the way I have a 90 gal display tank and a 20 gal long fuge with a 55w pc. What would be a good macro algae for my setup?

Anyways, yes, I personally would include one somewhere in the system. And you can easily point powerheads and choose grain sizes to eliminate any sandtorms IMO. |
