Too much flow in my 75gl?

I was wondering if 3100gph in 75gal mixed reef is too much flow? I got snapper at 2500gph for CL and quite one 4000 at 1000 for return, which is about 700gph. Also, is 700gph too much for return? sounds like niagra falls in the overflow box, any ideas to how i can slience the overflow?

No, Not too much flow.... IME, I could not get anything to quiet my overflow box, just had to get used to it. I currently use one on my grow out tank, and it sounds like I am brewing coffee 24/7.... As far as flow for my 75 gallon, I have over 7500gph of flow. 100 times turnover. I also don't have a sandbed, and have sps corals. A mixed reef is kinda tough, don't permanently anchor any corals down, until you you know they are satisfied with the flow and lighting. I am nearly 100% sps, a small zoo colony left. When I had a mixed reef, I generally kept sps on top, and others down lower in the tank. I also kept the flow mostly towards the top of the tank, so that the lesser demanding corals would get indirect lesser flow. Good luck....
