Probly a dumb Question

But how do you know if a coral is happy with the flow and light it has.

not dumb at all. what kind of coral/s do you have? it depends on if they fully open up or not. if you just got the corals it can take from a couple of minutes to a week or two for them to open up. it really depends on the coral.

Well I have a brain coral (not sure what kind) It opens up all the way i think but in the current it looks like its pulsating. is it good for it to be moving like that or would it just not open all the way if it was to much.

Usually feeding, post of pic of your brain. Mine usually deflate a little at night and put the feeder tentacles out. If the flow was too much it would likely be deflated all the time.

When I placed my brain coral it was in an area of moderate flow and looked like it was pulsing like yours. I moved my to a spot of lesser flow and it seems to be more inflated now.
