Questions about food?
I am planning on mixing up a large quantity of food in a condiment bottle and then using it over the course of a 3-4 days? Of course, it would be refrigerated while I am not feeding, but still, I just want to make sure that it will be okay. I rarely use all the food I defrost, so I wanted to start making enough for a few days. (I am planning on mixing brine, mysis, zoecon, and occasionally garlic guard and meds (as required)).
Also, can I mix up all my phytoplex, microvert, and coral accel into one bottle so that I can measure just one dose of the mix, instead of 3 sep. doses? This would be for until I run out, not just 2-3 days. |

I wouldn't do it.
It only takes 10 minutes to thaw fishfood out that was frozen. I fill a small disposable bowl with some frozen food, dip it into the tank for some 79F water, and let it thaw. Once it is ready, I turn off the return pump and add it to the tank. 15 to 30 minutes later the return pump is back on. If you can't remember that you are thawing food, set a timer. It doesn't take long, and it is always 'fresh' compared to something in a fridge that is sitting there stewing who-knows-what. |
