Typhoon III - Installation Trouble

I can't get the supply valve to quit leaking. It's leaking where the RO tubing goes into the slip fitting, not from where the needle pierced the plumbing. I've disassembled it to make sure the tubing was properly seated and I believe it is.

Any suggestions? It's just a slip fitting, there's nothing to tighten to achieve the seal. Has anybody else had problems with these? The instructions (yes I actually read them, repeatedly actually) say that the end must be square...well mine is as square as I can see in the light of a flashlight under the sink. I'm a little unsure what to do here...nothing to tighten and nothing to get a bigger hammer for!

Help

take the end out and cut it with scisors and try again.
If it still leaks contact them manf. for a replacement.

I had originally cut all the tubing with wire cutters, which seemed to work fine for all the other fittings. So after posting this I decided I would get the sucker good and square...so I disconnect the tubing and build me a quick ittle sled for the table saw and actually cut the tubing (yeah...close to 10K in woodworking tools but don't have a $10 pipe cutter go figure) exactly square....reinstall...still no dice.

After another fit of rage I regained my sense of logic and looked a little deeper. And I found the source of my problem!! There's supposed to be an o-ring down there! Alas mine was missing said little piece of equipment. Due to my aforementioned lacking of plumbing equipment I do not have a replacement handy. So I pilferred an o-ring out of the valve on the "RO water only" valve which I'm not using right now. SUCCESS!!

I guess I should get cleaned up and try to find a Sunday evening service somewhere since that 5 cent piece of rubber probably just cost me my life in the hereafter

Moral of the story...make sure all the pieces are there before you start! I'm sure it would have been easier to see into the fitting before I had installed it under the sink!
