Question Which Filtration System?

I have a HOB Bio-wheel filter on my 55 gallon tank to get started and now what to upgrade.Don't know what to do?My stand is small, can only fit a 10 gallon tank on each side.I don't know if that would work?Is it too small?I found one Wet-dry that will fit(CPR CR500) link-(http://www.marineandreef.com/shoppro/wet_dry_filter.htm)But i heard bad things about wet-dry(LFS).protein skimmer?Open to any ideas.

Agreed. If you do go with the 2 x 10g tanks underneath, fill them with rubble and put chaeto/macro algae in one with a light on the opposite schedule as the display.

You dont have to have a sump to have a great tank. They help to add water volume and hide equitpment (skimmers, heaters, pumps, etc). A good HOB skimmer (AquaC Remora) and some koralias or tunze would make you tank work awesome. To keep the water crystal clear, you could also keep a small HOB power filter with media in it but change the media frequently or the nitrates will love it.
