Heaters, how much.....
I'm starting a 90 gal with a 38 gal sump. I was planning on two heaters, 200W each. Is that overkill?
Also, I read somewhere that the titanium heaters are the best way to go......Is this true? The heaters will be in the sump. Recommendation on brand? Thanks |

I had a 200w in my sump, but found out at night my 200w heater couldn't keep up with heating the water. I have my tank as a headboard in my bedroom and have a huge fan blow on it at night and also the room stays at a constent 68 degrees. So with the 200w my tank would drop down to 65 at night I had to end up adding a 300w to the mix, So I have a total of 500w on a 60g DT and 40g sump. Just depends on your needs.

The recommendations that I have read are 5W per gallon. For a 90 gallon tank, this would be 450 watts. I would go with two 250 watt heaters. I picked up some titanium heaters and they work great plus no chance of breaking glass.
