Identification
I have a farily new tank so I have new things popping up allt he tiem. I have a bunch of spionid worms but this thing is different. I noticed it last night and it is extending like one of the worms but has a lot of little hairs on it and a bulbous top, almost like a peacock feather but very tiny. I'm concerned becasue I dont' know if it is stinging my mushrooms or something. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hard to see anything in the picture - but is it maybe just a feather duster?

no not a feather duster, I was wondering if it could be a hydroid, I haven't been able to find what they look like.

Do a search on digitate hydroid or go to Melev's hitchhiker site for a picture of one.
