What type of water?

Hello all,
I'm getting ready to setup a 65 gallon RR just for fun, and to maybe grow out some frags. My question is I don't have an RODI and the closest fish store that sells it is a good 30 min drive. I need to get 65 gallons of water and I'm thinking about just going to Walmart and picking up 65, 1 gallon jugs of distilled water. Will this be ok?
Thanks,
Jesse

that's what I used for a long time, but when I tested for phosphates, I had 1ppm. I thought it was my test kit, but it turned out to be right. Also distilled water maybe run through copper pipes for filling, etc. There's no way to know.

One idea, is that water refill stations a grocery stores and most walmarts. That is often RO water that tests around 6 TDS. You could run that through a DI unit and be in business or just use it straight

You will have to figure your drive time/expense vs the cost of the water from Walmart. Those jugs are usually $1 a gallon or so and most LFS's are well below that.

I know, the water from the LFS is around .50-.60 a gallon. So it's either waste three hours of my time and put 120 miles on my car (water from LFS), or spend an extra $30 and get it from Walmart.

LOL! You said 30 mins, so I assumed 30 miles away (at 60 mph). I didn't know you normally travel 120mph.

Seriously though, I had the same problem and my LFS's are much closer (10 miles or less). I just didn't feel like spending the money on ro water and ended up using tap. I know I am going to pay for it later (probably sooner as well), but I couldn't even come up with enough buckets and containers to transport the 90g I needed.
