Feeding Formula 1

How the heck are you supposed to feed with this stuff????

It is like a jelly cube.
Do you try and dice it up and put the chunks in the tank?
Mash it?
Fry it?
Bake it?
Grill it?

If someone would be so kind to point me in the right direction with this stuff.

Thanks in advance

i usually break off a chunk into a cup with a small amount of tank water to defrost it. once it's defrosted, i mash it up a bit to break up some of the bigger pieces, then feed it to my fish with a large dropper.

My fish hate the frozen version of it, but they love the flake...I feed frozen mysis with flakes of formula 1 & 2.

I've been feeding it for my fish for over 4 years and it seems that recently they changed the recipe and now it is very mushy (not sure about this, just from observation). Initially, i thought i got a bad batch but the past 4 i bought are all like that. What works for me is to crush it when it is semi frozen, it will maintain some structure and be more jelly like, then i feed it to my fish. Sometimes i just let it completely thaw out in the refrigerator and feed it to them, then the consistency is like that of PVC glue. Regardless of the way it is, it seems to hold together even when in the water and you'll fish will probably eat it before it dilutes itself in the water.

HTH

I asked this a few weeks ago and it was suggested that I try putting it through a garlic press. I've been doing that and it works well. I usually have to put it through twice to get it to a consistancy that I like.

if its like that, chances are it thawed and was then re-frozen. the form. foods have a gel binder in them, and usually 5 seconds in a microwave or a few minutes in luke-warm water is enough to break it up nicely, but if it has thawed (and lost moisture), it will become like rubber.

FWIW, I fed one cube and threw the flat away. I don't like the gel-based frozen foods.
