what makes zoas grow?

Here's a little colony that had 4 polyps when I got it in February.


Here it is now with over 50 polyps.


I have no idea what I did. I do squirt it with some left over coral food twice a week.

High Light and good current. Good water quality is key.

I play guitar and sing to my zoas now they are growing way better. The real secret is in the song selection.

good water flow and the right amount of light. If you find that a zoa colony is not growing well, try moving it to different part of the tank.

each colony has slightly different needs. Some do well in high flow and high light, others in low flow and high light, and then others in high flow and low light. There are tons of combinations, you just have to find the right spot for each colony. Assuming you have good water quality to start with.

Definately good water quality for all. I have found mine color up better under T5's
