Thinking about tearing tank down very difficult being gone 4-5 days on the road trying to make this tank work. Seems to be one thing after another. I thought i could manage it just letting my wife feed but she has no interest and things seem to get out of hand in a few days.

The brown algae your seeing are just diatoms. Part of the begining process. It will go away. If you have a sand bottom put in some sand sifting gobies.

I had a lot of diatoms in my newly setup tank. I just wiped them off of things. I also added some hermit crabs to eat the diatoms. Between the hermits and the tank getting older the stuff when away.

Some mexican turbos may take care of it.

Not a huge problem at the stage you describe. Increase your flow, decrease your feeding if you remotely suspect it's excessive, possibly run a diatom filter [1 micron cartridge or true diatom filter with powder] for an hour or so.
