Ammonia spike

How big of an ammonia spike should I expect during the cycleing process??? It went up a little in the begining but has dropped but it only went up to .25 ppm. now its back to 0

It really all depends on the individual system. If there is a high initial bioload, (things dieing off or producing waste) then you will probably see more of a spike. On the other hand if you are using completely cured rock than it is possible that you won't see any ammonia ever.
