For my reef, RO/DI is a must now. If I couldn't use RO/DI I seriously would just quit the hobby. There's no way I would ever rely on our city water year round and I won't use it for anything anymore. 286 TDS and I don't know what it all is. That is after a Britta filter which is supposed to remove all chlorine and lead. My reef gets 0 TDS water only for everything.
Dechlorinators will throw off an iodine test kit also. |

my tap has lake michigan water and it is quite clean, around 140-190 tds and it doesnt taste that bad besides all that chlorine. Its city tap water, i dont know if we share water with chicago, probably not....
But i still use RO/DI water and i drink RO water (please do not make this disscusion another, do not drink RO water blah blah blah)
