controlling the temp.

I'm trying to maintain the temperature of my tank (120g). Currently, it varies from 82.0F to 84-85F during it's peak.

Right now, I have my Profilux controlling the temperature..shutoff the Metal Halides and Velocity T4 pump if the temperature get's too high. Also, it turns on my 2 PC fans if the temp get's too high. My nominal value would be 80F.

What would you guys recommend adding to keep control of my temperature. I would like to add something small and that would fit inside my stand ? Any recommendations. I'm leaning towards the Profilux Propeller breeze fans, for my sump. But not sure if they will do the job ?

Any recommendations ?

IMO/E it is very tough to accurately control temp with just fans. The only way I know how to keep a body of water that size at a constant temp would be to run a chiller with a dual stage temp controller hooked up to a heater. Especially since you are running MH's and a T4 pump.

The fans will help. But the only way to keep the temp stable w/out large fluctuations would be to run a chiller.

I have the Profilux Breeze, its very silent and moves a decent amount of air. I like them, right now I'm in the middle of figuring out exactly how I want to chill my tank with some redundancy and I'm not sure if this will be it - but I really do like them. Looks pretty sexy, too - but not so much next to my Frankenlight. The big adv with the Profilux controller is the speed control - apparently I could get my B2 to adjust it, but trying to be real ... I'll NEVER get around to it unless Elos figures it out for me.

Very cool Fliger ! I was looking at the Propeller Breeze also, but I'm not sure it would be enought to cool my tank (120g). My nominal temp is 80F and currently I'm between 82-84F. Do you think it would do the job ?

Honestly I don't think so. I had a strong (but loud) Orion fan and the Peltech Geotronic on my 120XL (135G) and it did just fine. But either one alone probably wasn't enough. I like the Peltech because it doesn't do the turn off at 79, on at 77 - when you set it at 78 (like my current JBJ). If I keep the JBJ or get a Teco, I'll bypass the controller and just have the B2 control it, or I'll get a larger Peltech. Still deciding.
