worm looking thing, but not a worm.
I can't get a picture of it. It just goes back into the LR if I move.
I'll describe as best as possible It is brown, with sections of plates like a exoskeleton. It has hundreds of legs like a millipede. I've only seen maybe 2 inches of it sticking out of the LR, so I don't know exactly how long it is. Also it has maybe 4 whisker looking things on its head? Makes it look like a moles mouth. Anybody have a clue what this is. I don't think it's a worm. Thanks Jerry- |

sounds like an Eunicid worm to me as well. they don't usually bother corals, but they will attack the snails and other small inverts. they can get REALLY long. theres some pics of one floating around that the worm is about 7 feet long. best bet would be to remove it, if you can positively ID it as an Eunicid worm.

Eunicid. Pull the rock he's in, and put it in a bucket of water. Don't kill the rock, but you may have to work hard to get this bad boy out.

For a great story on a Eunicid worm try reading about Steve Weast's beast of a worm:

That picture is hard to say. The whiskers are really long. Maybe up to an inch or slightly less.
Seems to like the food if i put it on the rocks it will come out. What's the best way of removing it. Grab it with tweezers. It won't eat my fish will it? Jerry- |

HOLY CRAP... I just read that article.
Are those Eunicid worms flat or round? Mine is round. That live rock has my zoa cluster on it. How am I suppose to get it out? If you break it does that other part grow into another worm? This is not good. |

I just read the article on reefkeeping. Shoot!!!
I think its a Eunicid worm. It is getting more and more comfortable since I've been leaving food on that rock for my mandarins. Hmm... Does any have any experience getting one out? If I get a hold its head portion do you think i can just pull it out? Also, the article says it has bristles, does it hurt if I get the bristles into me? Thanks. Any advice would be helpful. |

I wouldn't touch the worm without gloves on. In general, try to avoid putting my hands in the tank without gloves. The worm might be a eunicid. Can you get a picture? If it is, you might be able to pull out part of the worm, which might be enough.

i had one in my tank, and I got rid of it last month. They are REALLY fast. I had to get the largest siphon hose i could, and sucked it out of my tank. Good luck, and keep us posted.
