Can anyone ID this skimmer?

Alright i found this skimmer for sell. The guy couldn't remember what brand the skimmer was, He replaced the pump (I forgot to ask what brand the new pump is)
Can anyone ID this skimmer and pump? Is it junk?
He's selling it for 40 bucks plus shipping.

Not a JEBO. It is a Won Brothers. Basic venturi skimmer...Not really worth $40 used.. $20 maybe

Bad idea IMO. The Remora isn't all that great of a skimmer IME.
You're better off with any of these below, most of which are cheaper than the Remora.

The Deltec is of course $400 though so that is an exception.

Wow, my seaclone really is a ripoff. Great info! I'm still going to turn my clown into a producer. Listen up all doubters!

BTW is round skimmers better then squared ones?

Thank you again!

I have used the Jebo Quad 2004 on both a 20 gallon inside the tank and on a 90 gallon in and hang on outside of sump.

I got mine back when they were $19.99 and $21.99 plus shipping from Ebay but it wasn't aquatraders. I would have to research the seller name as it has been a while since I bought anything from him.

In my opinion a Jebo quad 2004 should work well on a 55 hanging in the corner or on the outside of the tank.

I will never part with either of mine though I did replace the one on the 90 gallon with a different design of skimmer as I am converting it to SPS only and adding a tunze 6100 stream for flow.

the jebo will go on a 29 gallon softie tank with a 29 gallon sump.

Nick

The Remoras were considered good back in the days when the only other HOB skimmer around was a Sea Clone. Nowadays, there are better and cheaper HOB skimmers to be found as I have mentioned a few already.

As far as skimming ability is concerned, it doesn't make a difference whether the body is square or round. Besides the reaction chamber size, the only other important part in the body design is the shape and transition of the neck into the riser tube and collection cup.

Oh...
What skimmer do you use, dhnguyen?
Out of the list you posted what one would you buy?

I actually am running a modded AquaMedic Turboflotor T1000 currently which has a HOB version that is also another decent skimmer(even without mods).

Have in the past used, tested and modded SeaClone, JEBO, Odyssea, Remora, CPR BakPak, and many others though.

Since you have a sump already why would you want a HOB skimmer? Any insump skimmer will outperform even the best HOB unit out there.

Saltwater, that's just the general concensus. I do think to make a seaclone skimmer worth having that it does need a little help. I may change someday (and would have gotten something different with a little more education), but till then...it's me and my clone.

When I got mine 3 years ago I was just following the lead of the guy who sucked me into this mess! Now I'm a closet addict.

I think that listening to everyone's ideas and realizing that more money is definately not the only answer then you'll make a good decision.
