55 gal tank algae trouble

I have a 55G tank and within the last week brown algae has grown onto a bit of everything. Nothing has died.My skimmer has never skimmed that much skimmate. I will do a big water change and test the parameters. I have coarse crushed coral for sand unfortunately. Is my tank crashing?

thanks

Is this a new tank? If so, it will pass. Be patient. You'll wake up one day and it'll all be gone.

Have you added anything recently? Fish, lighting, etc. How often do you do water changes? How much? Please test water and post results.
