What are the specific kind of Anthias you have stocked? how many do you have. I want some of these but I've only got a 40 gallon tank.

It looks great though... I love the powder blue

how is that ASM skimmer working out for you?
I love it. I have the G4X and I did the recirculation and the gate valve mods to it. I have it set to skim wet and get a rather nasty looking/smelling tea colored skimmate that fills the cup in about 36-48 hours.

I used Caribsea Special Grade Reef sand. I like it due to its versatility. It isn't as small as oolite so it doesn't get picked up and blown around in the current, yet it is still fine enough that I can have sandsifting organsims.

I stocked 4 Lyretail anthias originally, one male and three females. My advice is make sure you have good water quality and a large enough system to accomidate them as you need at least three for a school and preferably 5-8 for a good school. The male is necessary to keep the females from fighting it out. Anthias have the ability to switch sexes. If you don't have a dominant male then the alpha female will switch sex to become the male and the remaining females will fight it out to re-establish the female pecking order.
