Pump recommendation needed
I just bought a JBJ Auto Top Off (ATO) self-leveling controller. I need to attach it to a pump, but the manufacturer does not make any recommendations as to how strong the pump should be.
I've never needed to buy an external pump before. Could someone recommend one that would work with this unit? Thanks! http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...pc=1&N=0&Nty=1 |

Any small powerhead (like a maxi-jet) should do as long as it can pump to the head height that you need (to the highest point of your hose relative to the pump).
Just don't set it up like the picture... that will back siphon when the pump turns off. Make sure the end of the tubing is outside of the water. |

Maxijet 1100 handles pressure very well. There is also another but I can't recall the name. It's pretty cheap and works well. Marinedepot has it and it is a slow running pump.
