storing chaeto
I have all of my extra chaeto in my 12g nano QT tank and need to remove it as I plan on buying a new fish and need to free up the tank.
If I put the chaeto in a bucket with tank water and an airstone and a light, how long will it live? It also has alot of microfauna in it. I am trying to sell or trade it but have no takers.

I can't give much of an answer, but when I was switching tanks I yanked my fuge offline and set it aside. No light (or not much, except for ambient), no flow, and halfway drained it sat there for nearly a month before I remembered the cheato and moved it into the new tank. It was still alive, though it does seem to be growing more slowly to me.

I have auction up on ebay already.
I guess I will store it and keep my eye on it. I just wanted to see what everyone thoought. I would hate to accidentally kill it.
