New Critter Suggestions

I have a similar question to Noah_count's thread, but Ididn't want to hijack his, so here goes mine...

I have a 6 month old 29G reef tank with a mini sump for a total water volume of about 30G.

I want to add a new critter or two. I'm looking for nice colors and compatibility. I also want to add some more corals for good color.

I have the following fish/corals:

1x false percula (he "owns" the tank)
1x fire fish (friendly with the clown)
1x emerald crab
1x frogspawn
1x plate coral
1x green star polyp colony
1x green-tipped zoanthid colony
1x palythoa colony

All params are stable (trites/trates/pH/Ammonia) and calcium hangs around 390-400.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I would get another clown. Its been said they do better in pairs. Just get one thats smaller than the one in there now and be prepared for a bit of fighting, but nothing major. The ocellaris and perculas both are supposed to be the easiest to pair up.

A juvenile clown would be a fine choice, in my opinion. "Smaller" might not be good enough. Most clowns raised alone will become female fairly rapidly, and two females will fight.

Thanks for the suggestion. Good to know about the clowns. I had been told that once a clown is alone you can't add another. I'd love to have two.

What about inverts? Is there a good star or cucumber or shrimp or other invert that I can add to my reef safely? What about a clam?

Cleaner shrimp are awesome and quite popular. As are fire shrimp.

A clam might be ok since you have T5HO lights.

There are also all kinds of small fairy wrasses to consider. Not to mention brittle stars.

All kinds of stuff!
