SeaClone Protien Skimmer Help Req:
This is a hang on type Skimmer... My question is : is there any way to surpress the micro-bubbles this thing produces from getting into my reef tank ? I tried using a hang-on plastic box with home made partitions so the discharge water would cascade thru it in order to dissipate all the millions of micro-bubbles before
they get into the tank... no luck. Meterring back on the air intake doesn't produce enough micro-bubbles to do the job this thing is designed for... using just enough bubbles to do the job is too much and they quickly fill the tank. Any fix ? Thank you. |

When I "had" a Seaclone I used a filter sock over the return.

i ripped off the sponge input filter from the pump...i then placed it over the return i cut a slit in the sponge so it would fit over the return....that seemed to get rid of the bubbles and it was simple... Just make sure you have something breaking the water surface....i had to redirect some pumps, because i got a film on the surface of the water.
