I want a clam

I have a 12 gallon nano , 32 watt PC's, 20 pounds live sand 10 pounds live, no corals yet. Is there any kind of clam I can get?

well the lower light clams, (derasa, squamosa) get big, and they get big fast! I would suggest against it!

I would say no. You might get away with it for a short time, but I think even those relatively lower light clams (which still require high light) would eventually start to shift their colors and recede.

little neck clams... they don't get big and require no lighting. they are part of the cleanup crew. but they are not colorful in any way shape or form

any softy corals like shrooms or zoas would be fine. for lps, you have to be careful. some need more light than others, some are happier with being fed mostly. do your research, stay away from the more light needy ones, stick witht he hardiest ones. Im a fan of the duncans myself. sps, pretty much a no go.

at any rate, for the first coral buy, get a softy. not lps, certainly not sps. you get the softy first just as coral practice. be patient, especially with a nano. stick to adding only one or two coral colonies at a time. massive implse buys can often crash a tank and cause other short and long term problems.
