Pencil Urchin at surface
Hey all, quick question. My pencil Urchin just decided to climb like a madman for the surface of the tank where he is now located. He seems to be doing fine, Ive just never seen him climb the walls before. (Usually hangs out back in the Live Rock). Just checking but is this normal behavior?
The only thing I have done is a 10% water change with sg 1.0265 vs Mine of 1.0243 to try and bring my SG up a touch. Would he just be following the less dense water?? I did the water change 4 hours ago though, so I would have thought it would be all mixed by now, and my refractometer says 1.0252.. so I dont know. Thanks! -Luke |

Critters climbing to the surface sometimes indicates a lack of oxygen.. Maybe he got up there for a breath of air, and was tired from the climb and just fell asleep there.

My longspine does this from time to time. He goes up the glass all the way to the top searching for food. My tank has a lot of corals and I sometimes think it is because it is easier for him to climb around the glass looking for food vs. going through the rocks. I don't think this has to do with water or health issues.
