algae on bottom

i have lots of algae covering my live sand. I have about 6 inverts in my 24 gal and it is still bad. What should i do. My tank is cycled, but im only about a month and a half into it.

you are probably having a Diatom outbreak, which is quite normal in the cycle.

Are you using RO/DI? Or tap water?

if it is a datom outbreak then it should eat itself out of its food source--providing you are careful not to add extra phosphates through feeding.
In this stage of the cycling it is probably caused by the live rock not being fully curred--sometimes this can be months.

im using dechlorinated tap water, but my next water change will probably be RO/DI

yeah, ive found that using tap water leads to bad diatom outbreaks, and there used to be the idea the Cilica (sp) sand also lead to outbreaks. But I don't know about that for a fact.
