Frag Tank Question

Okay, I am thinking that I will use a 2.5 gallon tank as a growout for my frags. I was going to use a 15w compact flourescent and a simple miniature HOB filter for filteration. Do you guys think it will be difficult to keep the water chemistry correct since it is such a small volume of water. I was going to fill the tank with water from my 55 reef. Would I be better off keeping the frags on a frag pod attached to the 55 with a magnet versus trying to keep the frags in a 2.5 gallon? Does the glue that is sold for gluing frags pose any threat to my corals in my 55?

I think it's better to keep frags in the environment they're going to end up in. If you can affix them to a small area on some egg crate, you'd be better off, IMO.
