skimmer output

How often should I have to empty the skimmer cup? If we do it every couple of months that is a lot. It seems to me that we should have to do this much more frequently than this. When I look in there I can see some foam and gunk in the neck but there is never really any in the cup to empty...is there something I should adjust to make it work more efficiently? The LFS set this up for me so I am really at a loss as to how it all works......

With an AquaC EV120, I'm dumping the cup out twice a week. In that weeks time I get probably about 3 inches of junk. It's pretty dark and thick. If I try to set the skimmer to produce more it seems to flood a lot.

yeah that is what I was thinking....at least once a week if not more with a 90G. Is adjusting it as easy as just turning the flow lever? Anything I should worry about once I move it? CAn I screw anything up?

you should clean it once a week even if it doesn't need to be emptied.

What type skimmer is this?

My skimmer is very picky with its adjustment. If I try to get it to skim more by adjusting the air valve it floods. I'm talking about the smallest adjustment that I can make.
