Air pump and skimmer
I have a CoraLife Super Skimmer 220. It has a venturi style needle wheel pump however as it sits it doesnt suck very much air into it. I took a piece of plastic and a rubber band and wrapped part of the inlet filter to create more suction pressure on the air tube and this has helped greatly. However Im concerned this may be bad for the pump and was wondering if I would have better luck connecting an air pump to the little venturi port so that it would force air into the system. Any input on doing this? Thanks in advance.

air pump will not help. Is there a reason you feel the skimmer is not getting enough air?

Got an air pump and hooked it up. Micro bubble production has gone up ten fold. The reason I feel there was not enough air is because there was barely any bubbles at all in the skimmer.
