AGA bulkhead help

im sure this has been talked about, but you can never use the search option. i have the AGA overflow kit, the directions just say to wet the bulkhead seal then tighten with tthe tool they provide. should i silicone it instead? of course if i had to replace the bulkhead it would be near impossible doing this...any thoughts?

As long as everything is clean and you get a good seal you shouldn't have to use any silicone at all. Also you don't need to tighten it too much. I would suggest getting it hand tight and then a little bit more (a turn or two) with the tool and then leave it. Good luck.
