refug ???'s

Just a quick question and I need some quick opinion. Is 4.5 lbs of fiji-mud an adequate amount of mud to use in my refugium? I'm also going to have about 2.5 inches of sand on top of the mud in a 20g tall refug for a 55 gallon display. The display is also going to have about 2.5 inches of sand in it. Mostly going to have soft corals with some SPS and LPS in the distant future. Let me know what you think...thanks!

Current Tank Info: 55 gallon w/ 20 gallon refug...MAG 9.5 return, 3 Rio 120 powerheads in DT, 300W heater. 2x96w T5 lights (12K and actinic), 70lbs sand, 65lbs live rock...29 FO right now that will remain up and running and act as my quarantine tank.

It is an ok amount... IMO Mud is better than sand in a refuge
