clowns

can i keep a black ocellaris and a orange ocellaris that aren't mated in the same tank? I have a 75 gallon. they will be my first first added.

Yes but if they are both females, they may fight (most likely will) if they are both males, they'll probably pair off after a month or two.

You might want to post this in the clown and anemone fish thread. As for sex, clowns will change sex after awhile. The larger one usually becomes the female.

They'll tell him the same thing over there in that forum, ocellaris clowns are ocellaris clowns. Don't matter what color they are. Fish don't care about race. In fact, mixin' the orange w/ the black and white occellaris is one method I've seen to help induce the black and whites to breed. They (from what i hear) are al ittle more difficult to initiate this behavoir and can take a long time to do so, so swapping one out for an "experienced" orange and white to help show em the ropes seems to be one method. I"m still waiting on my b&w's to get with the program and have considered doing this myself to see if it works. (and what a great excuse to buy more fish )
