jbj read warining for Koralia 4 I am almost possitive you are not to run them on wavemakers.
Wavemakers just a name for a basic on and off timer they are not good for pumps that is why 95% of pump manuf. do not make timers.
imagine starting and stopping your car 50 times a day

From what I have gathered the only real ones to get are the Tunze 6100 or the 6200. Theyare expensive but worth it. I am saving up for a couple myself.

I'm running Tunze streams on a variable controller, but you could go the cheaper route and run 2 or 4 maxi-jets on a wavemaker without much problem.

Some ppl have complained they can hear the MJ when starting up, but they were fine in my tank. I ran MJ 1200s for at least a year on a wave maker.

The reason the pumps start to make noise is the impeller if you except you may have to change impellers more frequently then go for it. However there are controllers from Tunze or SEIO that work without being bad for the pumps.
Worse case is that the dogtag in the impeller breaks pump runs without water then runs the chance of burning out
