Max return rate for Megaflow on Oceanic tanks?
I have a 70 gallon Oceanic Tank with the Megaflow overflow, I was wondering what the highest gph it can handle? It says 600 gph, but I sure it could handle more. Right now I have a Rio 12HF which is good for about 750 @ 1ft.

How high is your tank off the ground where the pump sits ? if it flows 750 at 1ft, I doubt you'll get anymore than 400 ft at normal 5" of vertical height.

It probably has to go about 3ft.

I wouldn't max out your overflow, it will be extremely noisy. Rule of thumb is the return pump should turnover your display tank around 3x-5x. So, what you're looking for is around 250gph-350gph. A Mag5 will probably work well or tune down your rio with a ball valve.
