Nano Skimmer and Lots of Macro bubbles
Can anyone possibly tell me what or where I went wrong? I have a 29 Bio Cube and purchased a nano skimmer. I put the nano skimmer in the back compartment where the sump/power head is. Whenever I turn the skimmer on, the power head blows lot of mini/macro bubbles. Is this normal?
Second question, I noticed another thread where someone had aptasia anemones growing and everyone saying that they sting and that they are a nuisance. Do these just grow from something, or are they purchased? My tank is only 3 weeks old, and this is my first tank. Just some live rock and 2 green chromis in there, so I'm a real newbie here! Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Eric |

I think the skimmer is taking to much water so add alittle more water. The second question aptasia come from the rock is a free coral but one you dont want they sting and reproduce quickly, need to get rid of them I use stop aptasia. Im no expert in the hobbie but asked the same question and the skimmer thats my guess water level is low. leave the skimmer on and add the water

If you are refering to the Fission Nano Skimmer, it has nothing to do with what you're doing, it's just a crappy piece of...well...crap!

Ok, thanks for all the info. I'll keep an eye out for aptasia, even though I have no clue what it looks like. I guess I just wait for it to start killing stuff and that's how I know I have it?
Secondly, it is the Fission Nano Skimmer. So, that answered my question, but sparked a second question. Is there a Nano Skimmer worth buying, or will I have this problem with all Nano Skimmers? |

I've heard a lot of good things about the sapphire skimmer. They are supposed works good. They have to have good customer service also. Here is a link for nanocustoms which is a sponsor. www.nanocustoms.com/index.php?cPath=18
