used water

can i re-use water that was taken out of my tank when i added rock? the water was good when it came out and i kept a power head moving it around?

its prolly better to use new water...the water is already out why not do a water change

It was only 5 gallons. i just needed room for the rock, nowi have evaporation so i want to put it back in. water doesnt need light right or oxygen. there was a lid on it so if that changes things

You can't use saltwater to top off for evaporation. Just fresh RO/DI to top off.

water does need oxygen so that the bacteria and other live stock can survive...and NEVER i repeat NEVER top off with salt always fresh

Never say never The only time I would use salt water to top off is if I neeeded to raise my salinity. This is a great way to do it slowly. Other than that, I agree... NEVER top off with saltwater

That used water might be the best water for another tank.

I would also throw the used water away. I can see no good reason to keep it.
