Well, featherdusters growing on a coral. I've forgotten the corals that grow this way.

Make sure they are well fed, trust me I learned that the hard way.

the coral is Porites and the worms are called spirobranches. the coral needs high light and the worms need to be feed phytoplankton

they get phyto everyday and good flow,I've place them at the bottom to see how they react to light and they seem to be doing well. I paid $20 at my LFS here in south Fla. they've grown about 1 mm in a week, plus on the other side of the coral I'm getting 6 green ones, also a new new one (blue) is growing in the front, is just too cool, and thank you all for the information

you mean $12 each coral or little umbrella ....and it came with a hitch-hiker...a white pom-pom xenia but i noticed it when I was lowering the coral to the bottom and it kind of got trapped underneath, and I see no trace of it, oh well

I've had a X-mas worm rock/porites in my 90 for over a year and never ever put phyto in the tank. Coral and worms are both fine. Good light and good current in a well maintained tank should be all it needs.
