Ideal?!? lighting for refugium

I have a large rubbermaid container that contains a DSB, LR and a thick mat of various Macro Algae. I had been running PCs on it, but did some rearranging. So, now there is a coralife T5 fixture over it. Is this sufficient? Would a 70 watt MH be a better choice? I know that the 10k and 03 bulbs are the best choice. thanks tommy

i just use regular lighting for fuge. clip on light with bulbs from home depot.

So you have a lot of lighting already, no need to upgrade.

For a fuge you want light in the 5000 - 6500K range.

I have two clip on lights for my fuge. I had a 125w output at 25w compact floresent and it didn't grow my chaeto for months. It stayed the same freakin size for nearly 6mths. I then added a 75w halogen next to it and wow. Went from i'd say a 10"x6"x4" deep ball to a 24"x12"x12" mass in 2mths.

I used to use the screw in CF on my old setup. Now I use a LOA 65W 6500K CF floodlight.

Yea, there's alot of different ways to light your fuge cheap. The main thing is to make sure your algae is growing at a fairly quick rate. If its not, then your lights aren't working to well.
