Gph?
I'm turning my 55 gallon into a sump for my new 125 gallon. Any reccomendations on water pumps. How much GPH should the pump be able to produce? I am assuming that I should choose one with 1" fittings instead of 3/4" for more flow, is that correct?

The return pumps will depend on the how much the overflow can handle.

Andrew has got the idea here, You need to find out what your drain size is BEFORE you think about return pumps.

I'd target 300-400 gph for that size tank, but I agree that checking the overflow size is a good first step.

I don't yet have an overflow for the tank. I am going to put internal overflows in both corners and drill holes for the overflow and return.

Sounds fine. There's a link to a calculator for overflow sizing on the home page.
