I run an icecap aswell. Right now I am running a reeflux 10k, Which is white with a strong blue tint. I have also ran ushio 10k. They are very crisp white.

I started out with Ushio, next came XM and growth was tremendous but colors were a little yellow to me even with 2x140w VHO super actinics for supplementation.
I am now using Reeflux 10k and after almost a year I am sold. The colors are much more vibrant and the bulbs do not seem to have lost any intensity or shifted colors as far as I can tell.

same experience with xm as well. im running reeflux 12ks and they are nice i imagine the 10ks would be aweseome as well.

probably my favorite bulb of all time would be aquaconnects 14ks

Are you supplementing the 12K's? When I talked to David at Coralvue/Reeflux he though the 12K might be too blue with my actinics too.

I personally use the xm 10 k. I had one bulb that had a yellow tint. Once i changed out the capatictor it whitened up. I had been running xm20k on the tank which masked the failing capatictor.

AZ, you take a pretty big hit in Par going from 10K to 12K reeflux. I have used both of them. I had/have the DE versions but the same is true for the SE's. The 10K's have signifigantly higher par.

I thought that might be the case. I will probably stick with the Reeflux 10K, URI VHO Super Actinic combo for now until something better comes along.

DE on magnetic HQI ballast ... it's white with a blue tint. Not a strong blue. The SE could very well have a stronger blue but the DE has what i would call a noticeable blue.

"How did my Thread Get Hijacked De bulbs"

Because somebody who had the Reeflux 10K's asked about the Reeflux 12K's and the same drop in par from 10K to 12K applied to both SE and DE versions of the bulbs. It would also be relevant information to you if you were to consider the 12K versions of the reeflux bulbs in SE instead of the 10K version.

Well see? There you go then. You now know that the 12K reeflux bulbs have signifigantly lower par than the 10K's and this could very well be useful to you in making a decision ...

Seriously, sorry to contribute to the hijack of your thread.
