Cool touch lighting

I have a 400watt halide that I would like to use for coral frag tanks. The light has a hood/reflector and supposedly will illuminate an area of about 4' by 4'. My LFS sell 33 gallon long tanks for a good price. They are 4' x 12" x 12". My thoughts are to place four of these tanks side by side. Anyone think my lighting will not be sufficient? Maybe I could place LPS/SPS in the two middle tanks and softies in the outside tanks? I'm worried about the strength of the light for the outer area.
