When to replace Chaeto?

I have had my current chaeto for about 4 months now and all my levels are currently in check. I rotate/spin it around pretty frequently to make sure the light reaches the entire thing. However, what signs should I look for when it is time to change it out?

Thanks.

you don't have to change it out usually. hopefully the mass will grow and you will periodically have to remove some of it. for sure pull any that is looking brownish/falling apart

If it fills the chamber it's in remove about half of it. (Give it away to local reefers for karma!) It's only functioning if it's growing.

Cut away half and give it or sell it to those who need it: it will be rich in pods and other life. Bag it with some water and maybe your lfs will give you some store credit for it.

In what other hobby can you sell your waste products?

Difinitely need to thin it out. I periodically pull mine apart as well. Seems to grow better when it's not such a dense ball.
