Small white dots on the glass
I have had a 29 gallon saltwater tank set up now for about 6 months. I just have noticed a bunch of tiny white dots on the glass that appear to be walking around. I cant see any legs, they're so tiny they are just dots, not really noticeable if you're not looking for them. I have just a few lbs of "live rock" (about 5 lbs). It was sold to me as live but I have never had anything come from it, so I didnt go back and buy more. Could these little things be copods? Or could it be something harmful to my fish? They are about 1/2 the size of a small flee. I also have sand, but it was not live sand....so I cant figure where they came from, unless they did come from the rock, and why would it have taken so long for them to come from it? I've always looked at the glass to check for things, but tonight is the first time I have noticed them.

I have a 29 as well. When I had them (still kind of do), they are hard shelled. You can sweep your magnet cleaner across them and they won't come off. You just have to scrape them off the glass. As far as I know they aren't harmful. I think they are a kind of snail or something. Hopefully someone can be a little more specific.

I've seen these in my tank as well. They are harmless, and more than likely came from the rock.
You wont neccessarily see the live stuff living in your rock. Have you looked at night with a flashlight? You will probably see plenty of pods crawling around. I would definitely get yourself some more live rock its good for the tank!!!!
