"Quick release neck" on a skimmer?
I was just looking at the Marine Solutions page for the Octo Xtremes and it says "Quick release neck on the collection cup" - what does that mean? Is that something special to the Xtremes? Or...?

yes the ER "Euro-Lock" union requires zero clearance. i actually like it a lot better than the bayonet style connections. the ER union is not a regular threaded union. you pretty much just turn it and slide it out.
